Special Note:       Please do NOT label your shipping boxes “Live Fish.” We have had issues in the past with certain shipping companies holding boxes marked in this manner.  Label them as “Water Samples” or “Liquid – Water” instead. (If you don’t mark them as water, they can also be held up!)  Please send your fish through the Canadian Postal Service if at all possible.  Note that sending through UPS or FedEx can result in mishandling and/or delay.

Show Fish:           Mail-in entries need to arrive no later than September 12th. BBC needs your entry form, fees and return postage (if necessary) with your fish.  Return postage and entry fees will not be deducted from auction proceeds. Please provide a return mailing label, empty bags and heat packs (if desired) with your fish.

Walk Ins:               All walk-in entries must come in during set-up on Friday September 13th. No later than 8pm.  Please notify the show chair when you will be arriving with your fish. You must tell the show chair if you are bringing walk-in entries! Please note that cell reception is limited in the convention center




Entry Fees:          Entry fees are on the sliding scale per current IBC standards.  IBC and BBC Members- $1.00 each entry, Non Members - $2.00 each entry.  Wild Pairs are considered a single entry on this scale.  Cash, etransfer and PayPal is also accepted. • Please note a maximum of 15 fish entrees are permitted. If pre-registration shows there is more room for additional fish we will open this up. A notification will go out close to the show if that is the case. If you would like to send more than 15 please contact us.

• Wilds are shown as a pair and therefore are considered one entry. (Arts and crafts section is not included in the 15 fish entry maximum)

Auction Fish:       Auction is at approximately 2pm Sunday at the pet expo. Please note only show fish marked as for sale are permitted to be auctioned off. Unless marked on the entry form, auction fish have a minimum bid of $5.00.




Money Split:         •  Show Fish for Auction - 75% seller / 25% BBC




Unsold Items:     We make every effort to sell the fish at our auction, and generally have very good results.  However, in case there are fish not sold, please include what you would like done with them.  Options are:

• Have them returned to you (providing you have included return shipping money) (default option)

• Reduce the minimum bid price until they are sold (reduction at auctioneer's discretion)

• Club donation (we’ll find good homes for them)

Show Results:    No results will be given over the phone. Show results will be posted online at the UBC website as well as on our club website and facebook page.

• Afternoon/Evening Betta show set up and benching. Please note that all show fish need to be here on Friday.

Saturday:

• 30am Starting of IBC Judging

• Evening Dinner after show Details TBD

Sunday:

1. Show Auction 2pm at Pet Expo

2. Show Clean up 4pm and picking up of show fish
